Xbox Music for Windows Phone 8 also makes its debut, available for download now

Microsoft just rolled out Xbox Video for Windows Phone 8, and now it appears that Microsoft has also rolled out Xbox Music (preview) for Windows Phone 8. This app simply adds to the Music+Video experience that comes with Windows Phone 8.

"Want the latest and greatest Xbox Music features on your phone? With the Xbox Music app and your Xbox Music Pass you can explore, stream and download millions of songs on your device. It’s the best way to get all the music you love on your Windows Phone," the app description reads. Here are the key features of this app:

  • See artist details with pictures, bios, album lists, and related artists
  • Manage your personal music collection, shared across all of your devices
  • Explore top songs, featured artists, and recommended albums to easily discover new music
  • Download songs for offline playback
  • Create and manage playlists that automatically sync across your pc, tablet, Xbox, and the web
  • Radio instantly creates playlists based on your favorite artists
  • Stream ad-free music from a catalog of tens of millions of songs

The build number is 1.5.2720.0 and was rolled out today, alongside Xbox Video for Windows Phone 8. In case you were wondering, these apps add to the Music+Video experience on Windows Phone 8. With Xbox Music, you can edit playlists on your phone, and sync your collections and radio stations on all your devices.

Microsoft promises "more to come" with Xbox Music and a full release in 2014, likely alongside the next big update to Windows Phone 8. Microsoft is planning on separating the Xbox Music and Xbox Video apps from the operating system, which will allow the company to push out faster updates to these apps rather than having to roll out an entire operating system update.

The Xbox Music preview app is currently available in all 22 markets that Xbox Music is available in. Keep in mind that in order to use this app, you are required to have an Xbox Music pass. Hit the download link below to snag the app!
