Xbox One system update rolling out today fixes bugs, no new updates

Xbox One owners should expect their systems to automatically update sometime today, bringing some behind the bug fixes to the New Xbox One Experience. Larry Hryb, also known by his gamer tag Major Nelson, announced on Twitter a system update for Microsoft’s latest gen console will be rolling out today but the update will bring no new features.

This update just contains behind the scenes bug fixes and there are no notes of what was fixed in this latest version of the Xbox’s new Windows 10 based operating system.

One eager Xbox fan asked Hryb on twitter when Xbox One owners could expect the next feature system update. Hryb replied that nothing is announced “…yet!”.

Microsoft has previously committed to bringing new features to the Xbox One in 2016 but no precise timetable has been revealed. Sometime in the hopefully not too distant future, Xbox One owners can expect to get updates enabling full DVR capabilities for Over-the-Air TV broadcasts and a new Xbox Store supporting Windows Universal Apps which have been enabled to run on Xbox One.
