Xbox One vs PS4: PlayStation 4 outpaces Xbox One sales for the seventh straight month

Despite the hike in Xbox One sales figure last month, Microsoft’s gaming console is yet to outpace the growth of PlayStation 4. Sony’s gaming console has yet again claimed the top spot in the United States.

Neither of the companies has revealed the exact figures, but according to the data from Sony and NPD, Microsoft’s recent move to sell a Kinect-free Xbox One bundle for $100 less hasn’t created the sales increase Microsoft was expecting.

Earlier this month, Sony announced that it has sold 10 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide. While Microsoft is yet to reveal the new figures, the last we heard Xbox One was selling “at a strong and steady pace following the release of the $399 console in June.”

In a recent interview, Xbox One’s chief Phil Spencer said that the company expects improvement in the sales figure in September, October, November, and December. Which might actually happen, since starting next month, Microsoft’s gaming console will become available in several other regions including China, Japan, India among two dozen other regions.
