Xbox One's Call of Duty Ghosts limited to 720p, PS4 gets native 1080pBy Mark Wilson on Friday, Nov 1st, 2013 at 07:10AM
The Xbox One is at the top of many shopping lists, and this eagerly awaited follow-up to the Xbox 360 is now very close to launch. While the next-generation console is capable of outputting 1080p graphics, it has been revealed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be limited to 720p.
While this is still an HD quality image, the highly anticipated game will be enjoyed at full HD 1080p on the PlayStation 4.
The difference between the two gaming platforms was highlighted in a tweet by Mark Rubin, Executive Producer of Infinity Ward, the developer of the game. He says:
"Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week's launch."
So will Xbox One gamers be disappointed with the upscaled graphics? Will it make a difference to your purchasing decision?
