Xbox One's GPU bandwidth now accessible to developers thanks to software dev kit

Microsoft's Phil Spencer has taken it to Twitter to reveal that developers now have access to the Xbox One's GPU bandwidth thanks to the June Xbox One software dev kit. This allows developers to have more performance, new tools and flexibility to make games better.

This is fantastic news, as it allows game developers to utilize more graphics power for their games. The only thing we don't know is how much of an increase the software dev kit will provide. Microsoft promises that this move will "make games better" so we will just have to wait and see what developers can cook up.

In August of last year, we learned that Microsoft had increased the graphics performance of the Xbox One entertainment console to rival that of its primary competitor, the new PlayStation 4 from Sony. In fact, the Xbox One GPU had seen a GPU clock speed boost from 800MHz to 853MHz.
