Today, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 Core IoT support for Raspberry Pi 3. The Raspberry Pi Foundation only just announced the availability of the Raspberry Pi 3, so it is interesting to see that Microsoft already has Windows 10 support.

Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview is optimized for connected things and smaller devices with or without displays, bringing the power, productivity, and security of Windows 10 IoT and UWP APIs.

Microsoft announced support for Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi 2 last year, and accessed user feedback on what Microsoft needed to do to improve Windows 10 support, features, and capabilities for the Raspberry Pi platform on Windows 10 IoT Core.

In the new Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview build available for download today, in addition to the new Raspberry Pi 3 board support, Microsoft is interested in your input as it aims to push out new features in the next few weeks.

Here’s a quick look at one of the projects available on the Raspberry Pi 3 and Windows 10:

Microsoft worked with element14 to create a Raspberry Pi Customization Service to satisfy all your Raspberry Pi needs. The new service will allow OEMs to build Raspberry Pi versions that meet their individual needs, use the open source software that Microsoft made available through GitHub, and deploy their Raspberry Pi through Microsoft’s powerful Azure IoT Suite.

Get started today, and see what you can create.

Buy the Raspberry Pi 3 from the Microsoft Store (apparently the device hasn’t quite hit the store as of yet, the link should be live soon)
