Yet another report suggests the return of the Start button in Windows 8.1, but no Start menu Written by Ron on April 22, 2013, 09:03AM
A report recently suggested that Microsoft was considering bringing back the Start button in Windows 8.1, all because of consumer demand. The report added that Microsoft may bring back the Start button as an option, along with booting directly to the desktop.
While several sources are claiming that Microsoft is indeed bringing back the Start button, a new report today chimed in and claims that Microsoft will only be bringing back the Start button, and not the Start menu. In fact, the Start button will closely resemble the Start button on the Charms bar. Microsoft is also rumored to add an option to allow users to boot directly to the desktop, rather than boot to the Start Screen.
Recently, we reported that Microsoft's Executives are the ones who are overruling objections from the Windows team about bringing back the Start button. Microsoft's decision to bring back the Start button only shows that the company is looking to please its customers. Let's see what Build 2013 has in store for us. We are expected to get a preview build of Windows 8.1 during the Build 2013 developer conference in June.
