You can now get a case for that Nokia Lumia 929 you don't yet have Written by Hammad Saleem on December 23, 2013, 04:15AM
We've been hearing quite a lot about the Nokia Lumia 929 lately. The alleged handset is destined to reach Verizon in the coming months. Actually, the rumors started popping up all over the internet long before Nokia had even unveiled its flagship phablet, the Lumia 1520. Keeping secrets in the internet age has become an even bigger problem than in the past, as people tend to leak out stuff before official announcements by the manufacturers. Today is no different at all, as a mobile accessory website is listing an armor case for the new Nokia phone on its website.
Wireless Ground, the mobile accessories store, is currently listing a Nokia Lumia 929 armor case with an $11.95 price tag. The product expected to ship "the same business day," according to the listing.
Recently, we heard from the notorious @evleaks that Nokia is planning to ditch its number designation, meaning the Nokia Lumia 929 will hit the shelves under the name Nokia Icon. We can live with that, but when will it happen? Well, there's no sound information about it at the moment, and we've seen rumors flying all over the internet that it's been delayed to February -- it was expected to happen by the end of this month.
In terms of specifications, the purported handset is rumored to come with a similar set of features as the Nokia Lumia 1520, but all of it packed inside a smaller body. Based on those rumors, the Lumia 929 will feature a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution and 2GB of RAM. Under the hood, the handset is expected to sport a Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz, 32GB of internal storage and Windows Phone 8 with Lumia Black pre-installed out of the box.
There's no official word from Nokia or Verizon about the launch of the handset, but we'll update you as soon as anything comes up. We have also contact both Microsoft and Nokia for comment about the case in question. There has been no response as of this writing.
