Security software company Saflink said Wednesday that it would work with Microsoft to develop software for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, sending its shares to its highest level in a month. Saflink makes biometric software for such applications as fingerprint scans and other security features. The deal aims to combine Saflink's software with Microsoft's business software. "Together, we provide a compelling solution for Homeland Security programs involving biometrics, smart cards, tamper-proof identities and physical security controls," said Mark Belk, Microsoft's chief architect for homeland security software. |
