According to a new report, Microsoft is killing off its Xbox Points system for cash and gift cards. The Xbox Points system has been used mainly for the Xbox console, but this new system involving cash and gift cards will work across a few of the company's platforms.

In an official Skype blog post, Microsoft has rolled out an update to the Skype app for Windows, as well as the Skype app for Windows Phone 8. The update for Windows is a minor update, while the update to the Windows Phone app improves reliability and performance.
