Azure DNS now generally available

It’s been a year since we first saw the public preview of Azure DNS during the Microsoft Ignite conference last year. Now they are celebrating the official release at Microsoft Ignite 2016. The corresponding blog post from the Azure team gives a larger scope of what features we can expect to see in Azure DNS.

In case you didn’t know, Azure DNS was created to let you host and manage DNS domains within Azure. It comes with a list of key features such as supporting all of the DNS record types, fast record propagation, and role-based access controls for individual DNS record sets. Even migrating your existing domain hosting to Azure DNS is quick thanks to a single command in Azure CLI.

Another important addition to Azure DNS is the collaboration with Men & Mice. The software solutions for enterprise networks has worked closely with the Azure DNS team to offer domain portfolios that have the power to manage large-scale domains with the Men & Mice Suite. The use of the APIs could indicate further progress with other third-part integrations.

Be sure to read up more about Azure DNS through the blog post and keep your eyes on WinBeta (OnMSFT) for more Ignite 2016 announcements throughout the week.
