Microsoft's Office Lens, Word, and Skype are three of Google's Best of 2015 apps

It’s no secret by now that Microsoft has their own apps on rival platforms like iOS and Android. Google has actually named Microsoft’s Office Lens as one of their Best of 2015 apps, along with Microsoft Word. Glad to see at least two of Microsoft’s apps receiving praise from Google.
Office Lens, for those that did not know, is an app that allows you to trim, enhance, and make pictures of whiteboards and documents into a readable format and saves them to OneNote. Office Lens can convert images to PDF, Word, and even PowerPoint.
At the time of this story, Office Lens has had over 70,000 reviews and has an average rating of 4.5. There are over a million installs of Office Lens on Android devices.
Microsoft Word, on the other hand, offers a familiar look and feel on the go. Microsoft Word has over 269 thousand reviews, with an average rating of 4.4. There are more than 10,000,000 installs of this app! Skype has also made the list, having an average rating of 4.1 and close to 8 thousand reviews.

It’s not the first time one of Microsoft’s apps have made it to a top-ten list. Time Magazine recently named Microsoft Translator as one of the top-ten apps of 2015.
We’re glad to see Microsoft’s app development efforts prove to be appealing to consumers, no matter what platform they are on. You can check out Google’s list of best apps here.
