Halo Master Chief Collection

A build that will address issues within Halo: The Master Chief Collection is currently being worked on by 343 industries. It’s going to be a major update which focuses on the matchmaking experience and party system. This isn’t the first time that an update has been released to focus on matchmaking within Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Due to the size of the upcoming update 343 Industries is releasing a beta test update to users that choose to opt in. While 343 Industries points out that they have been doing external internal testing, the size of the update has caused them to expand it to members of the Xbox One preview program that live in North America who chose to opt in to the update. 343 Industries says that users should have 1-2 GB available on their consoles to receive the update.

They also posted a series of questions and answers that can be found below. Most noteworthy though is that users who choose to opt in to the beta test cannot use multiplayer matchmaker with anyone who is not also part of the beta test. After the beta test is finished there will be another update to allow users to play multiplayer across multiplayer matchmaker.

The update is set to be released during the evenings of January 23rd-26th.
