AdDuplex: Three out of four Windows Phones run Windows Phone 8

According to new data from AdDuplex, three out of four Windows Phones out in the market right now are running Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows Phone 8. On top of that, the Lumia 520 continues to be the most popular Windows Phone device.

“AdDuplex is the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps empowering developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each other. AdDuplex was established in January 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. This report is based on data collected from 2,087 Windows Phone apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2. The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of November 22nd, 2013,” Adduplex stated.

According to the data, the Lumia 800 has dropped in rank and is now outnumbered by Lumia 820 and 720. The Lumia 1520 currently occupies the nineteenth position, but that will likely change as the months go by.

Nokia still dominates the Windows Phone device market, with nine out of ten Windows Phone 8 devices in use are made by Nokia.
