Adobe’s Flash Player doesn’t get much love. In general, it is an application that shoots up your CPU and shoots down your battery. With the introduction of HTML5, sites have begun to shift over from Flash based video content, but many of us still run the software. Today, the company has announced a critical security patch that addresses 18 different vulnerabilities.
The vulnerable code allows exploiters to escalate the level of security they have within Adobe Flash, and thus gain a higher level of access to your system. The critical patch is currently available for both Windows and Mac users – version number 11.2.202.418. Those on Linux can also grab the update under a different version number, 13.0.0.252.
If you are using Google Chrome of Internet Explorer on Windows 8, they will automatically update to the latest edition to keep your PC safe, but keep note if you run another browser or have another Adobe Flash installation on your computer.
