When Microsoft launched the new Bing design back in May, the company added a center column to the site in which they called “Snapshot,” which displays relevant information and services based on the search query. On December 10th, Microsoft has announced two new categories in Snapshot, people and landmarks.

“Now when you search for a famous person, celebrity or place, we will present relevant facts about that person in the center part of the screen so you can quickly find what you’re looking for without having to click through to another site or page,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. Microsoft has expanded the Snapshot feature to include famous people and places, as well as added the ability to include different sources of reviews. Snapshot even allows searchers to stay up to date on a celebrity by providing relevant information on the center column such as recent movies, albums, and related celebrities. Microsoft wants this feature to have more than just “a list of blue links” so the user doesn’t have to do any heavy lifting and can act more quickly. Head over to Bing.com to try out the updated Snapshot feature. Microsoft will be adding more categories in the near future.
