CES 2013: Verizon and Sprint to offer new Windows Phone 8 devices

During CES 2013 in Las Vegas, it was revealed that Samsung would be offering a Windows Phone 8 device on Verzion Wireless in the coming weeks. Sprint, not to be outdone, will be launching two Windows Phone 8 devices by summer of this year.

Verizon’s Windows Phone 8 lineup will now include the ATIV Odyssey, as well as the Windows Phone 8X by HTC and Nokia Lumia 822. So what are the specs of the ATIV Odyssey? “It features a 4-inch 800×480 Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel rear camera with full1080p recording and playback capability, 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and 2100mAh battery. The ATIV Odyssey, designed to work on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, comes with 8GB of storage and supports up to 64GB microSD cards. It also includes handy Samsung apps such as Photo Editor, Mini Diary, and Now (real-time weather, news, stock, and currency info),” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Sprint will be offering two new Windows Phone 8 devices by summer of this year, one device from Samsung and one device from HTC. Sprint has yet to offer details on the upcoming phones.
