DirecTV brings NFL Sunday Ticket to Windows 8.1

The pre-season games have come to an end, and football fans await the debut of the real season, which begins in a week. Many hardcore watchers subscribe to Sunday Ticket, a DirecTV exclusive that brings all of the out-of-market games to your TV, but now the satellite service is adding an option for computer users, as well.

There are some major stipulations of course — while the app is free from the Windows Store, you’ll have to fork over the money for a subscription to Sunday Ticket, which is far from low-cost. Still, many fans pay the price, and now they will have the added benefit of watching on a computer, which is handy if you’re on the road with a laptop.

The new app also includes the “Fantasy Zone Channel”, which is, obviously, geared towards those who join leagues each season. “A new live fantasy football channel every Sunday afternoon that delivers timely game-to-game fantasy analysis and statistics powered by NFL.com Fantasy along with multiple, revolving on-screen tickers offering real-time stats, highlights, projections and key player updates”, DirecTV states.

You can follow the download link below to grab the free app, which brings all sorts of features. Included is, not only live streaming, but highlights, big play alerts, social sharing, stats, a player tracker, and more. If you’re a fan (and a DirecTV customer) then this is certainly for you. You’ll need to be running Windows 8.1 to take advantage of this.
