Finally! Pre-orders for Microsoft Surface now open, starting at $499

We’ve been waiting a long time for this moment, Microsoft have today announced pricing and pre-order details for it’s new tablet, the Microsoft Surface. Starting at $499, you can get yourself a Microsoft Surface, which includes Windows RT, Office RT and the whole Windows App Store.

The Surface will be available in 3 versions, a 32GB version for $499, a 32GB version with a black touch cover at $599, and a 64GB version with a black touch cover priced at $699.

Touch Covers will be priced at $119.99, and Type Covers at $129.99. Pre-orders for the Surface are expected to start at 9am PDT. “In addition to pricing and market availability, the company announced a special limited-quantity pre-order for Surface with Windows RT available 9 a.m. PDT,” stated the official blog post.
