Intel has released new drivers for the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 (via Neowin), which brings improvements to the cameras and Windows Hello authentication, however, no changelogs for the updates are available, so it isn’t clear exactly what has been fixed. Stability and performance are likely to be part of the improvements. We should know more once the changes are published to the Surface Update History logs.

The updates are being pushed out by Microsoft via Windows Update.

In total there are 8 updates available, which are as follows:

  • Intel driver update for Intel Imaging Signal Processor 2500
  • Intel Corporation driver update for Microsoft Camera Rear
  • Intel Corporation driver update for Intel Control Logic
  • Intel Corporation driver update for Microsoft Camera Front
  • Intel Corporation driver update for Microsoft IR Camera Front
  • Intel Corporation driver update for Intel AVSTream Camera 2500
  • Intel Corporation driver update for Intel CSI2 Host Controller

The updates appear to only be rolling out to Windows 10 Insiders across multiple rings, including Release Preview and Fast Ring. The new drivers should be available to non-insiders in the not-so-distant future.
