Patch Tuesday

Today is Patch Tuesday for the month of September 2013. We’ve seen fourteen security updates for various products and operating systems, but the devices and services giant has also rolled out one security update for Windows 8.1, which recently hit RTM.

For those of you who are running Windows 8.1, whether it be the Preview or the RTM, Microsoft has released a security fix (KB2880289) that addresses Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer 11. We’ve added the direct download link to the update below if you don’t feel like updating via Windows Update.

“Microsoft is announcing the availability of an update for Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer on all supported editions of Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Windows RT. The update addresses the vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player by updating the affected Adobe Flash libraries contained within Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11,” Microsoft stated.

This update also applies to Windows 8.1 RT as well as the 32bit or 64bit flavor of Windows 8.1. Adobe Flash Player updates have been rolling out via Windows Update, in an effort by both Adobe and Microsoft hoping to keep users updated from any vulnerabilities.
