Microsoft has been granted design patents for the company’s Surface tablet device, along with various design elements from the Windows Phone 8 operating system interface. The company received approval on seventeen total patents.
Microsoft was granted twelve Surface related design patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office, while eleven of those patents dealt with various interface elements. Microsoft was also granted four design patents for various Windows Phone 8 interface elements. So there you have it!
