According to a recent post, Microsoft is testing TV DVR on Xbox One. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that it was planning to offer an OTA (over-the-air) TV DVR feature, and it looks like the feature will soon launch on Xbox One.
In a quote posted on Windows Central:
“Microsoft is now internally testing an update for Xbox One called “Xbox One Threshold Beta 1603 System Update,” or th2xboxrel_1603.160308-1900. This update allows the console to record freely-available OTA TV, and it even works while you’re playing games, watching live TV, or when the console is sleeping.”
Microsoft’s TV DVR Xbox One feature was first announced at Gamescom 2015, with the added ability to stream the recorded content to other Windows 10 devices. Microsoft said that the functionality would launch in 2016, and would test in only three countries at first; US, UK, and Canada.
Currently, the only way to view OTA TV on Xbox One is by connecting a Hauppauge TV tuner that is also connected to an antenna.
