The latest Microsoft App to receive an upgrade to Windows 10 Universal App status is the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app. The tip comes to us from Aaron that the app received the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) treatment for Windows 10, and is now available for download in the Windows Store on PC.

This app allows you to connect to and control any enabled TV or monitor from your Windows 10 PC. It works great for wireless projecting your Windows devices display to another screen in order to do things like play a movie or run through a PowerPoint deck without the hassle of being tethered by cords.
The new Universal app includes the following features:
- Name the adapter.
- Change the TV or monitor language.
- Adjust the screen.
- Update the firmware.
- Set a passcode to lock the adapter.
- Change adapter pairing mode.
The latest changelog for the app just lists that version 2.0 includes UI optimization, bug fix, and the ability to make passwords optional.
In order for the app to work, the TV or monitor you want to project your screen onto will require Microsoft’s Wireless Display Adapter. The Display Adapter dongle is currently available in the Microsoft store for $49.95, $10 off its normal retail price.
