Cobalt

Cobalt is coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Steam on February 2. For those that don’t know, Cobalt is an action-based, multiplayer side-scrolling game currently in development by Oxeye Game Studio and set to be published by Mojang. Cobalt will be available for $19.99 in the Xbox Games Store and on Steam. Cobalt follows Agent Cobalt on a robot-destroying voyage through space.

Cobalt will feature several different game modes; Capture the Plug, Deathmatch, TeamStrike (an ode to CounterStrike), Survival, and Adventure. An in-game map editor will also be available. Cobalt will not be a long game by any means, but it won’t be a short one either; Mojang estimates to be around eight hours to complete all of Cobalt’s challenges.

Here’s a short gameplay video from Gamescom 2015 of what Cobalt has to offer:

You’ll have special abilities like super slo-mo bullet time, a special rolling maneuver to repel bullets and be able to super punch objects to inflict super damage and punch back explosives. In Cobalt, every player can combine some or all of these moves to unlock a an advanced playing level. Cobalt will also feature speed and combat challenges to intensify the gameplay to challenge your friends to get the best high score.

Look for Cobalt on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Steam, starting February 2. If you pick it up, be sure to check back in and let us know what you think.
