Nokia Asha handset receives a major update, brings a host of new features

If you rock an Asha phone, there’s a major update waiting for your handset. Nokia has pushed update notifications to Asha 203, 500, 501, 502, and 503 models. Among several other things, the Finnish giant is bringing Nokia MixRadio and Panorama to the entry level smartphones.

Here’s a complete list of things you will get after updating your phone. Nokia MixRadio: First of all we have the personalized, music discovery and streaming service MixRadio ported to the aforementioned Nokia Asha models. Furthermore, your mixes can be downloaded on the phone for offline listening. Camera improvement, Selfie assistant and Panorama: Not only does the update improve the camera quality, but there is also a voice assistant which will help you get the selfie right. It will tell you when your face is out of focus. In addition, the much appreciated Panorama feature has made its way to Asha too.

Cloud: Nokia Asha users can utilize the 7 gigs of OneDrive storage space by filing it with photos and other things from their phone. It now offers an option to automatically upload the files to the cloud. Fastlane’s integration with Facebook and Twitter: The much loved Fastlane feature now lets users see the number of retweets their tweets have received and some Facebook notifications. Parental Control: Asha handset owners can now put a password on their phone to control browser and Store access.

If you don’t see the update notification, you can check it manually by going to Settings > Phone Update. Let us know in the comments if you have received the update and if you like any of the new features.
