Nokia has highlighted three apps available on the Windows Phone Store right now that are designed to help parents keep their children safe with Windows Phone. Not only does Windows Phone have built in technologies to help make Windows Phone safe for children (I.E. Kids Corner), but 3rd party developers have chimed in too to make the experience safer for everybody.
Enter KeepTrack, an app which allows you to track your childrens whereabouts on Windows Phone. Using LiveTrack, you can see where your children/family members are, and send them private messages. For emergencies, the app comes with an SOS mode, activating this mode will send alerts to other family members, so you'll know if they need help.
The second app is called FamilySafe, and is somewhat similar to KeepTrack. However, it has one extra feature that can further keep your children safe, and that's 'safe zones'. It works like you'd expect, you can set up virtual zones in which your children can roam freely, but once they surpass a certain area, you'll be alerted. This is most likely a favorite feature among parents, I remember my mother hating it when I strayed off too far!
The third and final app os called SafeBrowser, and it pretty much does what it says on the tin. It's a web browser, that's safe. It hides adult content by filtering it, so your children won't be seeing things like "gambling" or "pornography". It also protects against phishing and malware websites, which is an added bonus too.
So, are you a parent and are willing to try these out? Let us know how well they work for you, and whether your children are happy with apps.
