Nokia has rolled out an update to its Nokia Music app for Windows 8 and Windows RT and this update isn’t a minor update. In fact, this update is major and adds several user-requested features. These new features are just the start and Nokia plans on adding more user-requested features in future updates.

So what’s new? Nokia Music now features in-app purchases that allow you to purchase your favorite songs and albums directly from within the app. Whatever you download gets saved to your My Music library. Nokia has also added a “recent songs” feature. Simply click the Play Queue icon from the Now Playing screen and Nokia Music will showcase a list of songs you recently listened to.

Nokia Music also has an improved My Music collection, featuring a new design and easier to navigate. “The new semantic zoom (zoomed out) view will allow those of you with a large music collection to navigate your music better. We’ve also tweaked the knobs and dials of our music database behind the scenes to not only handle larger music collections, but also let you navigate them more quickly,” Nokia explains. Nokia Music also has an expanded Artist page, showcasing all of that Artist’s catalogue of songs.

Lets not forget the usual “general performance improvements” and bug fixes in this release. Hit the download link below to snag the updated app. Nokia promises more user-requested features, based on user feedback, in the near future.
