Nokia smartphone photography usage sees a massive decline, data by Flickr

When it comes down to the most popular mobile devices being used for photography, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy rule the charts. Photography social network site, Flickr, released data showcasing the most popular cameras being used on their website. Unfortunately, the news for Nokia does not bode well.

When it comes to all of the devices being used on Flickr, you may or may not be surprised to hear that Apple and Samsung sit amongst Canon, Nikon, and Sony, as the top five most popular brands. The top five mobile devices are all different successors of the iPhone, with Samsung and HTC squeezing themselves into the chart (see below).

Nokia though has lost 63.5% of what they originally had – a meek 8% camera phone share. At the beginning of 2013, Nokia phones held that aforementioned 8%, but have since decreased to 3% by the end of 2014. Not all Nokia phones are Windows Phones, but either way – the news doesn’t look great.

While Nokia may ship stunning cameras in their smart phones, they don’t seem to be enough to tear people away from the mighty grips of Apple or Samsung.
