PayPal hints at new Windows 10 Mobile app as Windows Phone app is shuttered

A little more than a month ago, popular online payment service Paypal announced the sunsetting of their Windows Phone app on June 30, asking users to access the service through the mobile website going forward. Well, if you still have the app installed on your Windows Phone, Windows Central is reporting today that opening the app now displays a message explaining that a new app is in the pipeline:

While the above message is quite explicit, we’re still waiting for Paypal to officially announce that they will support our beloved platform. However, it would not be the first time that high profile finance apps announce a retreat from Windows Phone just to come back a few months later with a new Windows 10 app. As an example, that’s what Bank of America did last year before coming back with a nice UWP app last month. Let us know in the comments if you’re hoping that a new Paypal app is really on the way.
