Skype on Mobile

If you happen to be a regular Skype user, you’ll likely be glad to know that today Microsoft has released a new update for both the desktop and mobile Skype apps. The new update isn’t a very big one, but it does focus on privacy settings.

The company recently introduced a feature where users can hide their IP address to protect their privacy, but with the latest update, the new feature is now set to default so you don’t have to worry about enabling it manually.

Skype said in a blog post,

Starting with this update to Skype and moving forward, your IP address will be kept hidden from Skype users. This measure will help prevent individuals from obtaining a Skype ID and resolving to an IP address.

The update is already available for the desktop and mobile versions so if you’re a regular user, it’s highly recommended to update the Skype on your devices.
