Toshiba launches 20 Windows 8.1 tablet Encore Mini, available for sale

Computer OEM Toshiba has just launched Encore Mini, a 7-inch Windows 8.1-powered tablet priced at $119.99. The device is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor and sports 16GB internal storage alongside an SD card slot, should you need more space.

Since the device is incredibly cheap-priced, as you would expect it does have some hardware limitations. The 7-inch display has a rather unimpressive screen resolution of 1024 x 600. And you’re going to need an external SD card to exceed the default internal storage. Additionally, Encore Mini also lacks a Windows button, hence the users will be required to swipe for the Charms bar to navigate. The viewing angles also leave a lot to be desired.

At present Encore Mini seems like the cheapest mainstream Windows 8 tablet your money can buy, but do remember that HP is also planning to launch 7- and 8-inch “Stream” PC line for $99 later this year.
