Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 RTM build 9600 leaked in various formats this week, giving everyone a glimpse of what Microsoft has stored for the October 18th release of the new operating system update. We’ve managed to post a video giving you a visual walk-through of the operating system, so sit back, hit play, and enjoy!

Windows 8.1 brings us Skype pre-installed and displayed front-and-center on your Start Screen. Windows 8.1 also brings us a new default wallpaper called “Harmony” along with other new features and improvements to Windows 8. In the Control Panel, we’ve noticed some new settings called “Tablet PC Settings” and “Pen and Touch” which offers greater control over your tablet device running Windows 8.1.

The Windows Store no longer requires you to sign into your Microsoft Account (if you didn’t do it during installation) to view the contents of the Windows Store. In the past, you were prompted to sign in upon launching the Windows Store. Now, you can open up the Store app, look around, and as soon as you click the install button, you will be promoted to sign in.

In the video, we will give you a brief tour of the apps that come pre-installed, as well as a walk-through of the system settings. There is no audio in this video, it is simply a visual walkthough. We will put up a more in-depth video, featuring your favorite narrator Zac, at a later time. We’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure. Hit play and enjoy!

If you are already running the RTM, how do you like it compared to Windows 8?
