WhatsApp Beta for Windows Phone lets you change your number with ease, save received videos

WhatsApp Messenger is a popular app on the Windows Phone platform, among other platforms. New details have emerged on the private Beta that is currently underway for the app, revealing some cool new features that will soon hit the public build of WhatsApp.

“WhatsApp Messenger is a smartphone messenger available for Windows Phone, Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, and Nokia phones. WhatsApp uses your 3G or WiFi (when available) to message with friends and family. Switch from SMS to WhatsApp to send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes, and video messages. First year free! ($0.99/year after),” the app description reads.

Currently in Beta testing, a new build of WhatsApp features the ability to change your mobile number as well as migrate your account information, groups, and settings too. This is a great feature for those who end up getting a new phone number or carrier service, but want to retain their settings and account details.

Another feature that is currently in testing is the ability to save and share received videos. Now, when you receive a video in a message, you can easily save it for later viewing.

No word yet on when we will see these new features make it into the public build, but we expect it to been soon! Stay tuned!

Thanks for the tip, WinPhan!
