Following the advice of her chihuahuas, Dona Sarkar hit the big red button this morning and released Windows 10 Preview build 14936.

The Windows 10 PC build highlights some recently added extensions for Edge, like Turn Off the Lights, Tapermonkey, and Microsoft Personal Shopping Assistant. There was also an update to the Windows Subsystem for Linux, switching to Xenial instead of Trusty. And lastly, there have been some authentication changes which affect connectivity to NAS devices and home file servers. Microsoft issued the following security bulletin with more details if you notice changes in your mapped network drives.

The other fixes and improvements Microsoft listed for this build include:

  • We fixed the issue causing Narrator to continually speak the progress of a song e.g. update with the current time of the progress bar every second if you navigate to the progress bar while a song is playing in Groove Music.
  • We fixed the issue where using the tab key to navigate the Settings app wouldn’t work.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in Explorer.exe frequently crashing for some Insiders, particularly for those with multiple network switches.

Windows 10 Preview build 14936 is available now in the fast ring for Windows Insiders. If you find anything else new and improved with the build let us know in the comments section below. Happy downloading!
