Microsoft has announced via Twitter today that interested gamers can snag a a 12-month Xbox Live Gold membership for $39, down from the normal price of $59. The deal is available via Microsoft Store, Best Buy, and Amazon.

With an Xbox Live Gold membership, Xbox gamers can have extra benefits such as multiplayer gaming, free game deals, and various other discounts. Microsoft previously discounted the membership to $39, but eventually that promotion went away. No word if this promotion is also for a limited time or if it is a permanent price drop.
