Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9 mentioned in another Microsoft job listing

Windows 9

Not too long ago, we learned that Microsoft had already begun work on the next big update to Windows 8, called Windows Blue, as well as development of Windows 9, the next major operating system from Microsoft. In a recent job listing, Microsoft mentions the existence of Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9, and the fact that both operating systems are currently being worked on.

As you can see, Microsoft mentions the existence of both Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9 in a recent job listing for a Bing Software Development Engineer. While we already know that these two operating systems are obviously the successor to Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8, this job listing proves that Microsoft has already begun development on the new operating systems internally. Even an employee admits that she is working on the Windows 9 operating system (perhaps Windows Phone 9?) for Nokia, HTC, and Qualcomm devices. Another interesting thing to note is the deployment of XAP/APPX apps from the Microsoft Store to Windows Phone 9. Could this operating system be the one that ties together Windows on desktop and Windows on mobile? We know Windows Blue is expected to do something of that sort. So far, rumors are circulating that Windows 9 will be released in 2014, but again, that’s just the latest rumor. More on this as it develops.
